As shown in Fig. 3b, the as-sprayed nanostructured coating exhibits a bimodal microstructure consisted of fully melted regions and partially melted regions, as well as some pores and microcracks. The structure of fully melted region is similar to the conventional coating, whereas the partially melted region is composed of preserved nano-particles.
